FLOOD MITIGATION & ROOF REPLACEMENT AT TIFFANY WAREHOUSE BRONX, NY

Description: The intent of this project was the fortification of the Tiffany Central Warehouse, consisting of 2,300 linear feet of new exterior wall replacement and 365,000 square feet of roof replacement. The existing 30ft exterior precast concrete wall panels were replaced with 12’ high cast-in-place concrete flood walls with integrated flood barriers and devices. The new exterior façade included installation of new steel columns, the placement of a the new 12ft high concrete flood walls with a new fortified section of floor slab, structural steel for flood log barriers, and architectural metal panels and windows above the flood wall. All this work was performed while the warehouse maintained full operations, through the erection of a 30ft temporary watertight wall to safely separate the building operations from construction activities.
